Yep - it's been a while, but we're getting ready to do an Indiegogo campaign, probably in February - right after I return from AFRICA and CAMBODIA.
Jeez - the places one must travel to film a story!!!

Blessings,
Bob

Green Peace Sign

We almost have the finishing touches ready to begin our KickStarter Campaign - a campaign to to take Taylor Camp from Hawaii to the Big Cities of Los Angeles and New York. Once funded, we'll get to work re-formatting the film for the Digital Theater, booking the theaters for a week screening each in NY and LA, and setting up a media campaign to let everyone know it's coming.
We'll be giving away a lot of "stuff" to those who pledge to the campaign, as well as FREE stuff to everyone who visits the website.
We'll let you know when it's LIVE!

So I'm writing up an email to send out regarding our San Antonio screening and a knock comes on the door.  It's the postman with a Priority Mail box.  And INSIDE said box is a Bronze Remi Award from WorldFest Houston.  I guess they love us down there in TEXAS!

Taylor Camp Wins Best Feature Documentary

We were honored by the Rainier Independent Film Festival with the WIN of Best Feature Documentary. I was on a job site when the film screened and attempted to SKYPE in from my iPhone to do a Q&A with the audience. I still have lots to learn about the latest technology!  I finally connected - right after the audience left.  I DID get an email on my iPhone informing me that we won the award.  Very Cool!

Mangoes

I've gotta say that one of the true blessings of living in the islands is the abundance of juicy, ripe mangos - local grown. Sure, you can get a box of "tropical" mangoes at Costco or maybe even some organic ones at the health food store, but those puppies were grown in South America someplace and have travelled a LONG way to get here. I don't think they were tree-ripened!
Local mangoes, though, are a delight, even if  they aren't quite ready to eat, I'm much more sure they were picked - like - yesterday. Yum!
That and Avocados - local grown, dozens of varieties available all year long. Double Yum!
One of my favorite things is to make a fruit salad with a mango, some bananas, maybe an apple for crunch, and an avocado - it's a fruit too, right? And maybe a ripe, ruby red grapefruit for a little tart.
Ah, some of my favorite things!

West Maui Sunset

West Maui Mountains Sunset
Nothing quite as pretty as a beautiful sunset. I looked out tonight before my walk and caught the yellow orb just after it sank behind the West Maui Mountains. Quick! Grab the camera. One thing you learn here is that ACTION is key. Nature stuff disappears quicker than you discover it, so have that camera by your side. Mostly happens with RAINBOWS, but sunsets too.
I have a technique of shooting of shooting five or six photos side by side and stitching them together in Photoshop with their automated compilation plugin. That's probably not what it's called, but that's what it does. Pretty flawlessly most of the time.
ENJOY!

Being as I am a filmmaker, these blog posts may not be as visually and aurally appealing as the films themselves. Enjoy anyway!
